Lot 488: An Assortment of Antique and Vintage Metalware comprising a Pedestal Stand, a Coffee Mill, and Lidded Vessels
An assortment of domestic metalware items. The collection includes a circular pedestal stand or tazza, likely silver-plated, featuring a beaded rim and an engraved foliate border above a fluted base. Also included is a manual kitchen tool, appearing as a coffee mill in the style of an early pewter top lap grinder, featuring a metal hopper body supported by three legs, a side-mounted wooden handle, and a top crank with a green-painted knob. The group is completed by two lidded vessels: a tankard-style pitcher with a decorative finial and thumbpiece, and a circular pot with a ball finial and scrolled handle. Both lidded items exhibit heavy oxidation consistent with pewter or aged silver plate. The lot is identified by auction tag 488. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are clearly visible on any of the pieces.
