Lot 311: An Assortment of Small Framed Artworks and Miscellaneous Frames
An assortment of small framed artworks and various frames contained within a cardboard box. The group includes a silhouette portrait depicting a figure in profile, set against a circular white field on a gold-toned ground. This piece is housed in a decorative gilt gesso frame with ornate foliate moulding. Also included is a mixed media artwork featuring a figure that incorporates textile elements and what appears to be sequins or beadwork, presented in an off-white wooden frame. Several other frames are present in the collection, including traditional gilt frames and wooden frames, some containing partial views of artworks such as a landscape. A paper label with the handwritten number 29 is tucked into the side of the box. No signatures or artist inscriptions are visible on the front of the pieces.
Condition report:
The items show visible signs of age and wear consistent with previous use and long-term storage. There are noticeable chips, cracks, and losses to the ornate gilt gesso frame of the silhouette portrait. The various frames exhibit surface scuffs, scratches, dust accumulation, and minor separations at the mitred corners. The artworks show some degree of surface toning and potential fading to the textiles.
