An assortment of ceramic kitchen and tableware, primarily in a Mediterranean rustic style. The collection is headlined by a large cylindrical earthenware canister, featuring a hand-painted design of lemons on fruiting branches with shaded green foliage. This canister includes a vertical blue and white ladder pattern border and is topped with a yellow glazed lid featuring a circular blue knob.
Accompanying the canister is a large circular plate with a wide yellow border decorated with green foliate scrolls and blue dots, surrounding a deep blue central well with an embossed grape cluster design. The lot also includes a white glazed dish with a scalloped rim, a white divided server or spoon rest, a small saucer with a fruit transfer print, and a small unidentified ceramic object contained within a plastic bag.
The underside of the scalloped dish bears the impressed or painted numerals 19 19, but no definitive factory marks are visible on any of the pieces. The items are attributed to Italian or Mediterranean manufacture based on style and decoration.
Condition report:
The lidded canister exhibits extensive fine crazing to the white glaze throughout the body. The large plate retains an adhesive price label to the front and shows minor surface wear. Other items in the collection appear to be in good used condition with minor surface marking, small scratches, and signs of previous handling consistent with age and domestic use.
