Lot 235: A Trio of Chinese Style Cast Resin Figurines
A trio of decorative figurines in the Chinese style, crafted from cast resin or composite material. The collection features a figurative group finished in deep red in the style of carved cinnabar lacquer, depicting a central bearded elder figure, likely representing Shou Lao, holding a gnarled staff and accompanied by a crane and a smaller attendant, all mounted on a tiered base. Also included are a pair of standing figures finished in a patinated ochre and dark brown tone, depicting traditional figures in ornate robes with intricate moulded geometric and floral patterns, wearing tiered headdresses and mala beads. No maker’s marks or reign marks are visible on the surfaces. Contemporary orange labels marked 235 and a white label marked 21 are present.
Condition report:
The figurines are in good decorative condition with no visible chips, cracks, or structural repairs. Minor surface dust and light shelf wear are present. Modern adhesive stickers are adhered to the bodies and bases.
