Lot 105: A Vintage Dutch Style Carved Wooden Wine Bottle Holder in the Form of a Clog
A decorative wine bottle holder designed in the form of a traditional Dutch clog or klomp. The object is constructed from carved wood with a graduated stain finish, transitioning from a dark brown at the heel and toe to a warm amber tone in the centre. The toe is decorated with incised and painted foliate motifs in a light contrasting colour. A hinged wooden lever arm is attached to the heel, functioning as a clamp for a bottle neck, and a broad brown strap is secured across the instep with metal studs. The piece exhibits two adhesive stickers: an orange tag on the lever arm inscribed with 105 and a small white sticker inside the footbed marked 13.
Condition report:
The item is in good condition, displaying minor surface wear and light scuffs consistent with age. There are no apparent structural cracks or repairs. Adhesive inventory stickers remain affixed to the wooden surface.
