Lot 55: A Collection of Eleven Bisque Porcelain Figurines in the Style of Mabel Lucie Attwell
This collection consists of eleven polychrome bisque porcelain figurines, each hand-painted with a matte finish. The figurines are designed in a nostalgic style reminiscent of the late-Victorian or Edwardian eras, featuring various characters and children. The figures include a woman in a mauve floral-patterned dress holding a parasol with a metal shaft, a gentleman in a light blue frock coat and top hat with a cane, and a young girl in a wide-brimmed hat holding a book. Several other figures depict children in period dress, many of whom are holding toys such as dolls and teddy bears. One notable figure is a child wearing a red and green hat and holding a doll. The style of these figurines is consistent with the Memories of Yesterday collection designed by Mabel Lucie Attwell. No factory marks or model numbers are visible on the figurines as shown.
Condition report:
The figurines are currently stored loose within a plastic container. One figure, wearing a blue hat, appears to have a loss or break to the hand. Given the storage method, there may be minor surface abrasions, small chips, or scuffs present that are not immediately apparent. The metal shaft of the parasol held by the figure in the mauve dress remains intact.
