A trio of hand-painted earthenware kitchenware pieces from the James Herriot’s Country Kitchen series produced by Border Fine Arts (BFA). The lot includes a figural butter dish with a lid modelled as a recumbent black and white Friesian cow resting on a base decorated with grass and blue flowers, featuring the word BUTTER in raised yellow lettering on the side. Also included is a toast rack designed with five upright calf figures forming the partitions on a matching grassy base. The final piece is a lidded sugar bowl shaped as a Swaledale ram with a textured white fleece, black face and legs, and prominent curled horns, sitting on a base with floral decoration. Two handwritten labels are visible on the items, identifying the manufacturer as B.F.A. and the range as James Herriot’s Country Kitchen.
Condition report:
The pieces appear to be in good overall condition with no visible cracks, chips, or restoration. Adhesive orange price stickers and white auction lot tags are present on the exterior surfaces.
