Lot 229: An Assortment of Vintage Women’s Clothing and Accessories, circa 1960s-1980s
A large collection of vintage women’s garments and coordinating accessories. The apparel includes a variety of dresses, skirts, and tops featuring a wide range of mid-to-late 20th-century textile designs. Notable patterns include large-scale floral prints with pink and yellow roses, black-and-white geometric motifs, blue polka dots, and various ditsy floral and plaid designs. The garments are constructed from a mix of materials including cotton, synthetic blends such as polyester and nylon, and textured lace in shades such as magenta.
The accompanying box of accessories comprises a light beige fur or faux-fur hat; a cream-coloured beaded evening purse preserved in a clear plastic case; two pairs of vintage leather gloves in deep burgundy and forest green; a white textile scarf or handkerchief featuring a small embroidered heraldic-style motif; and a mid-century style child’s swim bag featuring a graphic illustration. The collection reflects British high-street and boutique fashions from the 1960s through to the 1980s.
Condition report:
The items are in generally good vintage condition. The garments exhibit significant creasing due to stacked storage and will require pressing. The fur hat shows minor signs of age. The beaded purse appears well-preserved within its plastic case. The leather gloves show light wear consistent with age and use. Items have not been individually inspected for minor fabric pulls, small marks, or the full functionality of all closures such as zips and buttons.
