Lot 366: John M. Drummond (British, 20th Century), A Collection of Artworks including 'Church and Graveyard' (Signed)
A collection of artworks comprising a watercolour painting, a monochromatic etching, and several prints. The principal work is a watercolour on paper by John M. Drummond, depicting a church with red-brick architecture and an adjacent graveyard under a cloudy sky. The work is signed and dated ‘John M. Drummond 1927’ in the lower right corner. The collection further includes a monochromatic etching on paper of a maritime harbour scene with masted ships, and a small hand-coloured steel engraving of a stately home with an attached label identifying the subject as ‘ST OSYTHS PRIORY 1834’. The pieces are presented in various frames, including gilt-finished and dark-toned wood mouldings, with most featuring protective paper mounts.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition. Some yellowing and minor foxing are present on the paper mounts. The frames exhibit minor scuffs and wear consistent with age.
