March timed auction
Lot 114:
This lot comprises a collection of British Royal commemorative items, including a trio of Queen Anne bone china produced to celebrate the 1981 wedding of HRH The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer. The trio consists of a teacup, saucer, and tea plate, decorated with transfer-printed portraits and the Prince of Wales’s feathers flanked by red dragons. The collection also includes a porcelain plate for the 1977 Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, featuring the Royal Coat of Arms, presented on a larger white porcelain plate with a reticulated lattice-work border. Further items include an assortment of ceramic mugs commemorating various Royal Jubilees and events, a small decorative teapot with cobalt blue and gilt scrollwork, and a pair of wine glasses with printed crests. The lot is accompanied by a selection of commemorative magazines and booklets relating to Royal events, including a Silver Jubilee publication. The ceramic pieces are primarily finished with transfer-printed designs and gilt-edged rims. The teacup base is marked with a crown symbol, BONE CHINA, A 91 4, Queen Anne, and MADE IN ENGLAND.
The collection is in good overall vintage condition. There is light surface wear consistent with age and decorative use, specifically to the gilt-edged rims and some transfer patterns. No chips, cracks, or visible repairs were noted upon inspection.
