March timed auction
Lot 16:
A collection of assorted ornamental ceramics, featuring various mid-20th-century styles including bone china and porcelain wares. The group includes a globular bone china vase with a cream-coloured ground and transfer-printed floral spray, bearing the printed mark Singleton to the body. Also included is a porcelain bud vase with a flared rim and bulbous body, decorated with applied relief-moulded encrusted polychrome flowers in yellow, pink, and blue. The collection further comprises a miniature handled basket with a pale green glaze and gilt highlights containing pink relief-moulded flowers, and a miniature porcelain garden wheelbarrow figurine with gilt accents overflowing with an arrangement of encrusted flowers including pansies and roses. Additionally, there is a small bird-shaped porcelain base topped with large relief-moulded floral blooms in pink and yellow, and a modern-style rectangular section vase with an all-over gilded foliate pattern.
The items are in good decorative condition overall. There are minor chips and losses to the delicate petals and foliage of the encrusted floral arrangements, which is typical for this type of ware. Light surface wear and rubbing to the gilding are present, consistent with age and handling. All items feature orange inventory stickers.
