March timed auction
Lot 14:
A two-piece ceramic set comprising a globular jardiniere and a matching baluster-form pedestal stand. The pieces are constructed from glazed earthenware with a cream ground, decorated with transfer-printed floral sprays of roses and mixed blossoms in shades of pink, yellow, and green. The jardiniere features a broad, pink-glazed rim and interior, while the pedestal is finished with a matching pink-glazed base and top rim. Both components are accented with gilt line borders at the junctions. No factory marks or signatures are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces. The style and decoration are characteristic of decorative wares produced by British potteries, such as S. Fielding and Co (Crown Devon), during the late 19th or early 20th century.
There are several visible chips and losses to the pink glaze on the upper rim of the jardiniere. The set shows general surface wear, including rubbing to the gilt highlights and minor glaze abrasions consistent with age and functional use. Small orange auction lot stickers are present on both pieces.
