The group includes an Overseas Daily Mirror and Sunday Pictorial Coronation Souvenir for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, dated May 1953, featuring a colour cover illustration of the monarch with a floral bouquet. Also present is a John Player & Sons cigarette card album titled The Coronation of H.M. King George VI and H.M. Queen Elizabeth 1937, produced for the Player’s series of commemorative cigarette cards. The items are composed of printed paper and card and represent typical mass-produced commemorative publications and tobacco-related collectibles from the period.
Condition report:
The 1953 souvenir exhibits significant wear, including heavy tearing and fraying along the spine and edges. The 1937 album shows general age-related toning, minor surface soiling, and small adhesive labels.
