Lot 462: A Vintage Dolmetsch Dolonite Recorder in Original Box
A vintage Dolmetsch Dolonite recorder, presented in its original rectangular cardboard packaging. The box features a mid-20th-century graphic design with a red, cream, and blue colour palette, prominently displaying the stylised Dolmetsch logo and block-lettered RECORDERS text accompanied by a blue illustration of the instrument. The recorder is manufactured from Dolonite, a material characteristic of Dolmetsch production during the 1950s and 1960s. A small orange adhesive label with handwritten markings is affixed to one end of the box.
Condition report:
The cardboard box exhibits signs of age and handling consistent with mid-century provenance, including scuffing along the edges, minor crushing at the corners, and general surface discolouration. The instrument is contained within the original packaging.
