Lot 652: A Trio of Victorian and Edwardian Gem-Set Yellow-Metal Brooches
A trio of antique yellow-metal brooches featuring Victorian and Edwardian design elements. The group includes a circular starburst-motif brooch, consistent with Australian Federation Southern Cross designs, set with a central circular-cut red stone and accented by seed pearls, complete with an attached safety chain and pin. Also featured is a floral spray brooch set with turquoise-coloured cabochons and seed pearls. The third item is a substantial bar-style brooch displaying an ornate design with two large pear-cut purple stones and four cabochon-cut white stones in a cruciform arrangement, further accented by small foliate metalwork. The items are constructed from yellow metal typical of jewellery from the late 19th to early 20th century.
