Lot 604: A Collection of Polish Armed Forces in the West Grenadier Infantry Insignia
A collection of military insignia and badges attributed to the Polish Armed Forces in the West (PSZ), specifically the Grenadier Infantry units. The group includes rectangular fabric shoulder flashes featuring a stylized flaming grenade motif embroidered in white and red thread on a dark olive wool backing. Also present are embroidered rank patches depicting the Royal Coat of Arms in multi-coloured thread on dark wool grounds, a pattern utilised by Polish forces serving under British command during the mid-20th century. The lot is completed by circular metal badges, each featuring a raised flaming grenade device set above a banner. The textile pieces are constructed from wool with machine-embroidered details, while the metal components feature raised relief designs.
