A Collection of Five Vintage Ceramic Jugs, including Devonmoor Pottery Examples
A collection of five vintage ceramic jugs, several examples attributed to Devonmoor Pottery. The group includes a prominent two-tone blue and white pitcher with a matte lower body and glossy upper half, characteristic of mid-century Devonmoor design, bearing numerical labels ‘455’ and ’29’. Also present are simpler cream and pale yellow utilitarian forms, one of which is a smaller white pitcher adorned with a decorative gilt band featuring floral and blue jewel motifs. A cream-colored jug displays a distinct green and black abstract pattern and evident surface crazing, marked ’29 29′. A taller, cream-colored pitcher also exhibits surface crazing. All pieces are crafted from glazed earthenware or stoneware.
