Timed auction of unsold lots from 10th December
Lot 66:
A pair of West German beer steins, crafted from glazed ceramic or stoneware with a dark blue body, tan rims, and textured handles. The left stein features relief decoration depicting edelweiss flowers surrounding a central Alpine landscape scene with a building and mountains; partial text, “Ay beim zwa”, which appears to be German, is visible near the base. The right stein similarly displays relief decoration, including ornate scrollwork and a central landscape vignette with a building and figures, and is fitted with a hinged, domed metal lid, likely pewter, elaborately decorated with relief patterns and featuring a thumb-lift mechanism.
