Lot 549: A Collection of British Red Cross Society 3 Years Service Medals, Badges, and Fob
A collection of British Red Cross Society medals, badges, and a fob. The primary group features a medal with three gold-toned bars, each inscribed “3 YEARS SERVICE” in gold on blue enamel, mounted on a white and maroon striped ribbon. The main medal is crowned, with a circular emblem reading “BRITISH RED CROSS SOCIETY” around a red cross on white enamel, and an additional “3 YEARS SERVICE” banner below. Alongside, a red enamel pin with a white red cross motif is visible, partially marked “PROFICIENCY NURSING.” A separate, dark-toned metal fob with a jagged edge is engraved with “PELHAM FIRST AID POST COMPETITION S.P. M. COLTART 29-1-42”, indicating an award for a First Aid Post competition on January 29, 1942; small hallmarks are also present. The items are made of various metals, enamel, and fabric, and are presented in a worn white cardboard box.
