Lot 226: A Collection of British Football Memorabilia, including Stanley Mortensen and Tom Finney Books, and a Signed Photograph
This cardboard box contains a collection of British football (soccer) memorabilia, predominantly from the mid to late 20th century. The collection includes a group of hardcover and softcover books such as ‘STANLEY MORTENSEN’S INTERNATIONAL,’ ‘TOM FINNEY’S Forgotten Season,’ ‘Dixie Dean A Goalscoring Legend,’ and ‘STANLEY MATTHEWS HIS AUTOBIOGRAPHY THE WAY IT WAS.’ Also present is an ‘OFFICIAL SOUVENIR PROGRAMME’ for ‘TOM FINNEY’S TESTIMONIAL MATCH,’ explicitly dated Monday, 26th September, 1960. The collection further comprises a framed black and white photograph of a football player, which appears to bear a signature, and a framed document mentioning ‘SIR TOM H’ and ‘JOHN TURNER & SONS’ (Brickmakers & Builders, Preston).
