DECEMBER SALE
Lot 101:
A collection of decorative items, including two family coat of arms wall plaques and a group of mounted prints, presented in a brown plastic basket. The two prominent wooden plaques feature ornate applied metalwork, appearing as bronze or copper-toned, framing heraldic designs with painted or enameled elements in blue, yellow, and black. One plaque has a medium-stained, shaped top edge and bears the English text ‘Harley’ and the Latin phrase ‘Fide’. The second plaque has a darker, rectilinear finish and features the English text ‘VERRIL’ and a partial Latin phrase ‘Es’. Beneath these are at least two mounted prints, appearing to be reproductions of classical-style paintings, featuring muted colors and figures with drapery, possibly dating from the 20th century. The overall style suggests a traditional or revivalist aesthetic.
