DECEMBER SALE
Lot 67:
A lot comprising two examples of unglazed ceramic jasperware by Wedgwood. The primary item is a sage green ‘Sacrifice Bowl,’ inverted in the image, featuring white bas-relief decoration depicting classical figures, possibly nymphs or muses, interacting within a landscape of trees and foliage. The design is framed by a continuous laurel wreath border. The base of this piece is impressed with “WEDGWOOD,” “MADE IN ENGLAND,” and the number “99.” The second item is a smaller, heart-shaped pale blue trinket dish or tray, adorned with a central white bas-relief of putti or cherubs, also surrounded by a white laurel wreath. Both pieces exhibit a matte finish.
