Vintage Shell Motor Spirit Petrol Can
A vintage Shell Motor Spirit petrol can, rectangular in form and likely constructed from steel or tinplate. It features a curved metal handle with remnants of red paint and a screw-top spout with a distinctive elongated nozzle. The top surface of the can bears partially legible embossed text, including “OLEUM”, “TRADE MARK”, and “REG U.S. PAT. OFF.”, indicating a registered trademark for an oil product. A numerical marking, possibly “3N” or “31”, is visible near the spout. A white string is tied around the base of the handle.
