OCTOBER SALE
Lot 481:
This lot comprises a Royal Mint 1997 Brilliant Uncirculated £1 Coin for England Presentation Pack. The pack features a paper booklet titled “for England A proud sporting emblem,” which includes illustrations of a prominent British architectural landmark and a cricket match, with accompanying text discussing the “three lions” symbol and English sports. The coin, which is a Brilliant Uncirculated One Pound coin for England, is housed within a dark red, textured, rectangular case, likely faux leather, consistent with Royal Mint presentation packaging. Also included is a collection of assorted items: a light brown paper envelope containing folded white fabric, a group of loose silver-colored British coins, some identifiable as “ELIZABETH II” and “10 PENCE,” and a black strap or small pouch marked “Midland Bank.” All these items are housed within a translucent blue plastic Addis “sealtight” storage container, bearing inventory labels “RRR-23” and “13.” The visible text and currency suggest a late 20th to early 21st-century period for these mixed ephemera.
