A Pair of Wedgwood Ivanhoe Blue Transferware Plates. This item consists of two stacked ceramic or porcelain plates, predominantly decorated in a blue and white transferware style. The visible top plate features a central scene depicting two figures in 17th-century attire standing before a grand architectural background. Inverted text within this scene reads “Rembrandt Repeling,” suggesting a historical or artistic theme. The wide border of the plate is intricately decorated with a diverse array of motifs including floral elements, birds, fish, and small circular medallions containing individual portraits. The rim is edged with a thin band of gold. The partially visible lower plate also displays a blue and white decorative pattern, though its central design is obscured.
