Lot 547: A Platinum and Diamond Half-Eternity Ring
A platinum half-eternity ring featuring a channel-set row of seven round brilliant-cut diamonds. The band is constructed with a flat profile and polished channel borders securing the gemstones. The interior of the shank bears several struck marks: a series of three hallmarks in shaped reserves consisting of an orb or anchor, the numerical purity mark 950, and a stylized letter; below these is a separate stamp reading 1.00. The 950 mark indicates a platinum purity of 950 parts per 1000, consistent with British assay standards, while the 1.00 mark denotes the total diamond carat weight. The ring is presented in a vintage square jewelry box with a red exterior and cream-coloured lining.

Condition report:
The platinum band exhibits surface scratches and minor scuffs throughout the exterior and interior surfaces consistent with moderate wear (photo 2). The seven diamonds appear intact and securely set, although there is a visible accumulation of surface dust and grime within the channel and around the stone settings (photo 1). The accompanying jewelry box shows significant age-related wear, including fraying at the edges and corners of the red covering and heavy staining and discoloration to the interior fabric lining (photo 1).
