TIMED SALE TO END FRIDAY LAST CHANCE
A mid-twentieth-century mahogany side table in the Regency Revival style. The rectangular top features mahogany veneers with an inlaid boxwood stringing border. Below the top is a shallow frieze rail fitted with a single drawer, which is finished with two brass drop handles. The table is constructed with two tiers, incorporating a lower shelf, supported by four slender ring-turned uprights that extend into legs. The piece is mounted on small brass-toned swivel castors. The front rail above the drawer features two small brass pull-out slides or knobs. There are no maker’s marks, labels, or signatures visible on the exterior or interior of the drawer.
Condition report:
The table shows significant signs of surface wear and age-related use throughout. The top surface has scattered small dents, surface scratches, and numerous small white speckles, possibly paint splatter, visible in photo 1. There is heavy finish loss and abrasions to the edges of the top and the lower shelf, as well as the legs (photo 1). The front cross-rail above the drawer displays significant wear to the wood finish (photo 2). One castor appears to be missing or detached from the front right leg, causing the table to lean forward (photo 1). The interior of the drawer shows general scuffing and discolouration (photo 2).
