Two wall mirrors of differing styles and construction. The first is a large rectangular mirror within a contemporary Rococo-revival style frame. The frame is constructed from a molded material, likely resin or plaster over a core, and features a highly ornate design of scrolling acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, and floral blossoms at the corners and mid-sections, finished in an off-white paint. The second is a rectangular wall mirror set within a simple wooden frame with a stepped, molded profile, finished in white paint. The first mirror features a clear plate, while the second mirror contains a glass plate showing signs of age. No maker marks are visible on either piece. An orange adhesive label and a white rectangular adhesive label with numerical characters are present on the glass of the ornate mirror (photo 1). A similar white rectangular adhesive label is present on the glass of the simple rectangular mirror (photo 2).
Condition report:
The ornate mirror frame appears in good overall condition with minor surface dust; no significant chips to the molding are visible (photo 1). The simple white mirror frame shows multiple scuffs, dark marks, and areas of paint loss, particularly at the corners and edges (photo 2). The mirror plate of the simple mirror exhibits significant blooming and clouding, most prominent in the upper left quadrant, along with small dark spots consistent with silvering degradation (photo 2). Both mirrors show surface dirt and streaks.
