Lot 426: Industrial Steel Top Utility Workbench with Slatted Wooden Shelving
An industrial utility workbench or storage unit of rectangular form. The construction comprises a light grey painted steel frame supporting a heavy-gauge sheet steel work surface. This top surface is designed with three raised lips to the sides and rear, while the front edge remains flush. Below the main work surface are two open storage tiers, each constructed from six weathered wooden slats arranged longitudinally. The unit stands on four square-section steel legs. The grey paint finish shows substantial wear and scuffing consistent with workshop use. There are two orange rectangular adhesive labels and one white adhesive label with black text reading 26 26 adhered to the front-facing metal supports; these appear to be modern inventory or price labels and do not identify a manufacturer. No maker’s marks, stamps, or signatures are visible on the metal frame or wooden components.
Condition report:
The item is in well-used industrial condition. The steel top surface exhibits heavy, widespread oxidation and surface rust across the entire area (photo 1). The light grey painted frame shows numerous chips, scratches, and abrasions to the finish, particularly along the edges and near the feet (photo 1). The wooden slats on both lower tiers show significant weathering, staining, and surface grime (photo 1). The structure appears stable, though there is visible surface corrosion at several joints and bolt heads.
