A pair of heavy-duty cast iron mechanic’s bench vises, consisting of one blue-painted unit and one red-painted unit. Both items feature 360-degree swivel bases and integrated rear anvil surfaces. The blue vise is a standard workshop model with serrated steel jaw faces and a side-locking screw for the base. It features cast characters on the side of the main body that are not clearly legible. A orange adhesive price sticker reading “5.00” is applied to the side of the blue vise body. The red vise is currently disassembled into its primary components: the upper jaw and lead screw assembly, and a circular base plate with three mounting holes. The lead screw is steel with standard Acme-style threads. The number “0” is cast into the top of the rear jaw housing of the red unit. Both vises are constructed with steel handles and lead screws.
Condition report:
The blue vise shows significant signs of workshop use, including extensive paint loss and surface oxidation on the anvil and jaw faces (photo 1). The swivel base is currently detached. The red vise appears to be in cleaner condition with minor paint chips and visible grease on the lead screw (photo 1). It is currently disassembled; it is not confirmed if the internal mounting hardware to connect the base to the body is present. Both items show general scuffs and wear consistent with age and industrial use.
