Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of ceramic and porcelain wares featuring a variety of styles and forms. The group includes several pieces of novelty cottage ware pottery, comprising two lidded house-form jars, a smaller lidded butter dish, and a small jug. These pieces are fashioned with relief-moulded and hand-painted details depicting thatched-roof buildings with timber framing. Also present is an assortment of porcelain tea wares, including two teapots and a small footed cup or creamer, all featuring lobed bodies, floral transfer prints of roses and blossoms, and gilded highlights to the handles and finials. A globular teapot decorated with blue transfer-printed foliate and scroll patterns is included. The lot further contains a selection of plates, including a floral-decorated porcelain plate with a scalloped rim and the word October printed in script, and a series of souvenir plates, one depicting the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris. A novelty vessel shaped like a boot, decorated with small floral sprays and resting on a matching saucer, completes the collection. A circular printed mark is visible on the underside of a saucer, but the text is not legible from the provided perspective.

Condition report:

The collection shows signs of general wear consistent with use. Fine crazing is visible on the glaze of the cottage ware jug and the base of the cottage ware jars (overview photo). There is visible rubbing and loss to the gilded accents on the handles and rims of the floral porcelain teapots (overview photo). The plates show surface scratching and stacking wear. The blue and white teapot appears to be in overall good condition with no visible chips or cracks from the primary angle.
