Lot 260: Framed Pink Floyd Back Catalogue Promotional Poster
A large-format lithographic promotional poster for the Pink Floyd Back Catalogue, originally commissioned in 1996. The image features six women seated at the edge of a swimming pool, viewed from behind. Each woman’s back is hand-painted with a representation of a Pink Floyd album cover. From left to right, the designs depict Atom Heart Mother, Relics, The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish Were Here, The Wall, and Animals. The poster features a printed title along the bottom margin in capital letters reading PINK FLOYD BACK CATALOGUE, separated by a circular graphic device. The print is housed behind glass in a black wooden or MDF frame with a flat profile.
Condition report:
The poster exhibits visible undulation and waviness across the surface under the glass (photo 1), suggesting it is not professionally dry-mounted. The frame shows minor scuffing and wear to the finish, particularly at the corners and edges (photo 1). The print colours appear to have a cyan-heavy cast, although this may be influenced by the lighting and white balance of the photograph rather than atmospheric fading. The glass shows significant surface glare and reflections from overhead lighting (photo 1).
