Lot 200: A Collection of Die-Cast and Novelty Model Vehicles Including Mercedes-Benz 500K and BMW 328
A group of die-cast metal and plastic model vehicles and novelty items of various scales. The collection includes a large-scale die-cast model of a Mercedes-Benz 500K Special Roadster finished in maroon and tan, featuring a front license plate reading WIC-2013 and a radiator cap with a three-pointed star emblem. A large-scale two-tone yellow and brown BMW 328 model is present, bearing a BMW roundel on the bonnet and a front license plate reading DYX 912. The assortment also features a green Jaguar XK120 die-cast model mounted on a black plastic display plinth, with a license plate reading HKV 500. Further items include a red stylized car-shaped container with an emblem resembling the MG logo on the grille, a black vintage-style car incorporating a circular white clock face into the windscreen area, a cream and brown coupe, two small commercial vans in green and dark blue, and a small gold-tone decorative metal casting of a vintage car. An orange adhesive label reading 200 is applied to the bonnet of the Mercedes-Benz model.
Condition report:
The collection is in unboxed, displayed condition with visible dust across all items (photo 1). The yellow BMW 328 shows significant surface wear, paint loss, and staining, particularly on the yellow bonnet panels and front wings (photo 1). The maroon Mercedes-Benz appears largely complete, though it shows light surface dust and an adhesive price label on the bonnet (photo 1). The green Jaguar appears well-preserved on its original display base (photo 1). The red novelty container and smaller die-cast vehicles exhibit minor play wear and surface scuffing consistent with age and handling (photo 1).
