A pair of walking canes, comprising one left-handed and one right-handed example. Each stick features a contoured, ergonomic anatomical palm grip handle designed to distribute pressure across the hand. The handles are constructed from translucent acrylic in a mottled amber and tortoiseshell pattern. Each handle is joined to a tapered hardwood shaft, identified by the visual grain and finish as cherry wood, via a polished metal ferrule; the upper cane features a brass-toned ferrule, while the lower cane features a white metal ferrule. The shafts are finished in a dark, warm reddish-brown stain. A small white rectangular adhesive label is present on the handle of the upper cane, though it bears no legible maker’s information. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or country-of-origin stamps are visible on the handles or shafts.
Condition report:
Both canes are in good used condition. The acrylic handles show light surface scratching and minor wear consistent with handling (photo 1). The cherry wood shafts exhibit minor abrasions and small chips to the stained finish, particularly evident towards the top of the lower cane near the ferrule (photo 1). The metal ferrules show light tarnishing but remain secure.
