A group of mid-century British barware consisting of two distinct sets. The first set comprises seven saucer champagne or coupe-style glasses, each featuring a clear glass bowl with a gold-toned rim and a flared stem. The bowls are decorated with a printed motif of a yellow and white chamois deer wearing a blue and white scarf. The circular foot of each stem bears the word BABYCHAM printed in blue capital letters. The second set is an assortment of six tapered cylindrical tumblers, often referred to as harlequin glasses. Each tumbler features a smooth interior and a heavily textured, sand-blasted or crackle-finished exterior in a different colour: two in bright green, one in forest green, one in pink, one in sky blue, and one in silver-grey. All six tumblers are finished with a gold-toned rim. There are no maker’s marks visible on the tumblers.
Condition report:
The Babycham glasses show varying degrees of thinning and wear to the gold-toned rims, most notably visible in the close-up of the bowl (photo 2). The printed decals remain largely intact with only minor surface wear consistent with age. The harlequin tumblers are in generally good condition, showing light surface dust and minor rubbing to the gold-toned rims (photo 1). No chips or cracks are visible across either set in the provided images.
