A set of silver-plated flatware comprising twelve teaspoons, one pair of sugar tongs, and one pierced sifter spoon. The set is presented in a rectangular fitted case with a blue silk and velvet lining. Each spoon features a handle in the Old English pattern, decorated with a beaded or scrolled border along the stems. The sifter spoon is designed with a shell-shaped bowl featuring circular and teardrop-shaped perforations. The sugar tongs have simple oval grips and matching decorative stems. The items are silver-plated; no sterling hallmarks or maker’s marks are legible on the handles or bowls in the provided images. A rectangular orange adhesive label is present in the case, and a small white rectangular adhesive label is positioned near the sifter spoon.
Condition report:
The silver-plated surfaces show visible tarnish, particularly in the recesses of the decorative borders and on the interior of the spoon bowls. Light surface scratching is evident across all pieces. The presentation case is in poor condition; the blue silk lining in the lid is heavily stained and fraying at the edges, and the velvet base shows significant wear and areas where the fabric has detached from the frame. The exterior of the case shows scuffing and loss of finish along the edges and corners.
