Lot 402: An Assortment of Vintage Clear and Frosted Glassware Including Stemware and a Glass Utility Instrument
An assortment of clear and decorated glassware, primarily comprising stemware and serving pieces. The collection includes several wine glasses and champagne flutes featuring a frosted or etched decorative motif of grapevines and leaf clusters. One champagne flute is finished with a frosted body and gold-coloured decorative hearts and lettering, of which the word Happy is legible. Another glass in the set features a gilded rim. The collection also includes a large, flat, textured glass platter or lid positioned atop the other items. Centrally located within the group is a glass utility instrument, likely a hydrometer or thermometer, containing a small quantity of red and yellow internal markings and liquid. A small white adhesive label is affixed to the neck of this instrument, bearing the handwritten numeral 7 in black ink. The items are presented in a cardboard fruit box printed with the text COPE FRUIT and FRESH KIWI. No manufacturer names, backstamps, or signatures are visible on any of the glass pieces.
Condition report:
The glassware appears in used condition with surface dust and minor wear consistent with domestic handling (photo 1). There is a risk of light surface scratching due to the items being stored loosely together in a cardboard box. No significant chips, cracks, or deep abrasions are visible from the provided angle, though the individual condition of rims and stems cannot be fully verified without a piece-by-piece inspection.
