Lot 545: A set of four contemporary button-tufted plum velvet dining chairs
A set of four contemporary dining side chairs upholstered in a plum-coloured velvet fabric. The chairs are designed with high, slightly winged backrests featuring deep diamond button tufting to the interior. The outer edges of the upholstery are finished with a row of brass-toned nailhead trim. Each chair is supported by four tapering wooden legs with a dark, ebony-toned finish. A white adhesive label and an orange adhesive label are present on the side of one chair backrest (photo 1); the text on these labels is not legible. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible on the frames or upholstery.
Condition report:
The velvet upholstery shows areas of pile compression and tracking, along with light surface dust and lint, visible across the seats and backrests (photos 1 and 2). The dark finish on the wooden legs exhibits minor scuffs and small nicks near the feet (photo 1). The chairs appear structurally stable.
