A wall mirror of oval form designed in the Neoclassical style. The frame is constructed from gilded composition and wood, featuring a reeded outer edge accented by four criss-cross ribbon motifs at the cardinal points. A continuous beaded border surrounds the inner edge. The clear mirror glass is finished with a bevelled edge. There are no maker marks, labels, or signatures visible on the frame or glass.
Condition report:
The mirror is in good condition overall. The gilded frame exhibits minor surface wear and light rubbing to the raised decorative elements, including the reeding and ribbon motifs (photo 1). Small areas of dust and light surface grime are present within the moulded details. The bevelled mirror plate is clear and shows no significant signs of silvering loss, spotting, or foxing (photo 1).
