Lot 312: Rectangular Gold Gilt Finished Wall Mirror with Foliate Carved Frame
A rectangular wall mirror featuring a frame constructed from wood or composite material with a gold-tone gilt finish. The frame is decorated with a continuous repeating foliate pattern of stylised overlapping leaves. The inner border features a fine beaded or gadrooned edge. The mirror plate is clear and recessed within the frame. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the front of the item.
Condition report:
The mirror plate appears in good condition with no visible signs of foxing or silvering loss (photo 1). There is surface dust and light grime present on the frame and glass consistent with storage. Minor wear to the gilt finish is visible on the raised elements of the foliate pattern (photo 1).
