Lot 304: Three adjustable hardwood professional shoe stretchers
A trio of professional-style adjustable shoe stretchers constructed from a light-coloured hardwood, possibly beechwood, with chrome-plated steel threaded adjustment rods. Each stretcher features a split-toe forepart designed to expand for width adjustment. The wooden bodies are pre-drilled with multiple circular holes for the insertion of bunion or pressure-relief plugs. The set includes two stretchers with hook-style black composite handles and one with a T-bar style handle. The top stretcher bears a small white rectangular adhesive label reading 1 2. The middle stretcher bears a small orange rectangular adhesive label reading 3 0 4. The bottom stretcher bears a small white rectangular adhesive label reading 1 2. No manufacturer’s name is visible on the wood or metal components.
Condition report:
The group is in good, used condition. There are visible surface scuffs, light scratches, and areas of dark staining to the wooden foreparts (photo 1). The metal threaded rods show light surface wear and minor superficial oxidation but appear fully functional. The black composite handles are intact, showing minor handling marks and light abrasions (photo 1).
