A pair of watercolour paintings on paper by Lennie Horrocks, each depicting a botanical floral study in a realistic style. The painting on the left features a cluster of bright yellow and orange-yellow flowers, potentially dahlias or lilies, accented by small dark berries and a single purple bloom. The painting on the right illustrates a spray of pink wild roses with yellow centres and green foliage. The right-hand work is signed vertically in the upper right corner Lennie Horrocks. Both works are presented in identical decorative frames featuring a burl-wood effect outer moulding, a red-stained inset, and a gilt beaded inner slip, all set behind dark green double mounts. An orange adhesive lot sticker numbered 252 is applied to the glass of the right-hand piece.
Condition report:
Both works appear to be in good condition based on visual inspection (photo 1). The paper shows slight even toning consistent with age, but no significant foxing, water damage, or mat burn is visible from the front. The frames show minor superficial scuffing to the edges. The mounts appear clean and free from debris.
