Lot 226a: Two W&G Posters Beano Art Prints Featuring Dennis the Menace and Rasher
Two rolled art prints published by W&G Posters, featuring characters from the British comic The Beano. One print displays the name DENNIS in large yellow and orange stylized lettering against a black background decorated with yellow stars. The second print depicts various comic characters including Dennis the Menace with his characteristic black spiky hair and Rasher the pig, shown in pink with black spots. A blue and white manufacturer’s adhesive label is fixed to one end of the lower print, reading W&G Posters, 2125, Beano Pack Contains, 1 x Art Print; the remaining text on this label is illegible. A small circular white adhesive sticker with the number 12 is present on the upper print.
Condition report:
Both prints are rolled and contained within original protective plastic sleeves. The plastic packaging shows surface dust and small tears throughout. Visible creases and soft handling folds are evident through the plastic wrap, particularly along the white margins of the paper. A red rubber band is secured around the upper print, causing minor compression to the paper. The exposed ends of the rolls show light bumping to the edges as seen in the photograph.
