Lot 226: Three ladies' handbags including a quilted suede satchel and a tan frame bag with rhinestone clasp
A trio of ladies’ handbags in varying styles and autumnal tones. The first bag is a structured satchel featuring a dark chocolate brown suede body with a quilted diamond pattern. Each intersection of the quilting is accented with a gold-tone circular stud featuring an impressed circular design; the design is not legible as a specific maker’s name. The bag is trimmed with chestnut brown leather-effect material, featuring white contrast stitching and dual rolled top handles. The second item is a large frame bag in tan grained leather-effect material. The bag is distinguished by a prominent decorative clasp featuring a large central clear faceted circular glass stone surrounded by undulating gold-tone metal bands encrusted with multiple rows of small clear rhinestones. It has dual flat top handles attached with gold-tone rectangular hardware. The third bag is a simple tote in dark brown leather-effect material, featuring dual top handles and a horizontal external zip pocket on the front face. No internal labels or further maker’s marks are visible.
Condition report:
The bags show signs of previous use and storage. The tan bag exhibits significant creasing and folding to the body material, particularly across the lower front panel (photo 1). The suede bag appears in generally good condition, although the suede shows minor pile wear. The hardware on all bags shows minor surface scratches and faint oxidation (photo 1). All rhinestones and the central stone on the tan bag\'s clasp appear to be present from the visible angle. Interior condition and the functionality of closures have not been tested.
