Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This large collection of ephemera consists of several hundred 20th-century postcards, a vintage map, and celebrity promotional material. The postcards are organised into multiple bundles, many with handwritten white adhesive labels. These bundles include 50 cards of the Yorkshire Coast and villages, a group of Scarborough views, a bundle of 7 cards from Rome, 14 foreign cards, and several larger groups of British interest including one bundle of 70 cards and another five bundles of 70 cards each. The subjects encompass scenic landscapes, coastal views, architectural landmarks, and interior views, including locations such as Norway and Killarney, Ireland. One card features a printed caption reading The Spa and South Cliff, Scarborough. Styles range from early 20th-century monochrome and sepia tones to mid-to-late 20th-century colour photography. A printed credit on one card reads Photograph: Gavin Newman. Also included is a large-scale vintage Ordnance Survey map titled LANCASHIRE SHEET XXI. N.E., showing detailed topographical features and field boundaries. A promotional postcard for the singer P!nk is present, featuring a photograph of the artist and printed text reading p!nk and who knew.

Condition report:

The items are in varied condition consistent with a bulk collection of vintage ephemera. General edge and corner wear are visible across many cards (photo 1 and 2). Older monochrome cards show expected light yellowing and foxing (photo 2). The rubber bands securing the bundles have caused minor indentation to the edges of the cards (photo 1). The Lancashire map shows visible surface dirt and general ageing to the paper, although the text and lines remain clear (photo 2). No significant tears are immediately visible in the provided images.
