Lot 170: Two ladies Jaeger wool coats comprising a monochrome herringbone overcoat and a camel tailored coat
Two ladies coats by the British brand Jaeger. The first garment is a double-breasted overcoat constructed from a heavy-weight woven wool in a large-scale black and white herringbone pattern. The design features wide notched lapels and large, flat black plastic buttons. The sleeve cuffs are lined with a contrasting black and white micro-houndstooth check fabric. A black fabric label is sewn into the interior neck displaying the letters AEGER in white print, with the first letter obscured by the wooden hanger, and a small white secondary label stating 12. The second garment is a tailored overcoat in camel-coloured wool with a soft, brushed finish. The coat features pointed lapels, two horizontal welt pockets, and black button fastenings including a high-neck closure option. The interior is fully lined in a tan-coloured satin fabric. A grey rectangular fabric label is sewn to the interior lining bearing the name JAEGER in capital letters.
Condition report:
Both coats appear to be in good vintage condition. The herringbone coat shows no visible signs of moth damage, staining, or structural defects in the wool or lining (photo 1). The camel coat presents with a clean exterior free from visible pilling or stains, and the satin lining appears intact and well-maintained (photo 2).
