Lot 131: A Collection of Cut Lead Edinburgh Crystal Stemware and Tumblers
A large group of cut lead Edinburgh crystal glassware comprising various forms including large goblets, champagne flutes, wine glasses, and heavy-based tumblers. Each piece is decorated with a complex, deeply cut pattern featuring large fan and starburst motifs situated above a dense band of diamond-point cross-hatching. The wine and champagne glasses feature multi-faceted stems, and the bases are finished with a radiating star-cut underside. The glass exhibits the high clarity and refractive properties characteristic of quality lead crystal. Small orange adhesive labels printed with the number 131 are attached to the bodies of several pieces, and a small white adhesive label printed with the number 7 is present on one of the larger goblets. No etched manufacturer signatures, brand names, or country-of-origin marks are visible on the glassware.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good overall condition, with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of permanent clouding from dishwashing (photo 1).
