Lot 61: A Set of Vintage Lustreware Ceramic Egg Cups
A set of ceramic lustreware egg cups, each featuring a different iridescent glaze. The collection includes pieces in pale yellow, pearlescent white, amber-orange, lavender-blue, magenta-pink, and seafoam green. Each egg cup is of a footed, pedestal form with a flared rim, finished in a solid-colour opalescent lustre glaze. The items are presented within a partitioned cardboard storage box. A white rectangular adhesive label marked with the number 2 is affixed to the yellow cup. An orange rectangular adhesive label marked with the number 61 is affixed to the green cup. No maker’s marks or backstamps are visible on the ceramic pieces or the packaging.
Condition report:
The ceramic egg cups appear to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs (photo 1). The surfaces exhibit minor manufacturing glaze pinholes and small specks common to this type of ware. The cardboard presentation box shows significant age-related wear, including surface scuffing, creasing, and structural softening to the corners and partitions (photo 1).
