Lot 56: A Five-Piece Mediterranean Style Hand Painted Glazed Earthenware Condiment Set
A five-piece glazed earthenware condiment set featuring a Mediterranean-inspired hand-painted decorative theme. The set comprises a shaped tray with four circular recesses, two handled cruets with pourers and cork stoppers, and two globular condiment pots, one of which includes a matching lid. Each component is finished in a vibrant yellow glaze and decorated with hand-painted fruiting olive branches with dark brown olives and green leafy foliage. A small white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the tray bearing the printed number 12. A small orange rectangular adhesive label is attached to one of the smaller pots bearing the handwritten number 56. No factory marks, country of origin stamps, or signatures are visible on the upper surfaces shown.
Condition report:
The set exhibits visible fine glaze crazing throughout, which is most prominent on the bulbous bodies of the two handled cruets (photo 1). There are no visible chips, cracks, or evidence of professional restoration. The cork stoppers appear to be in good, functional condition. Overall in good condition consistent with age and material.
