Lot 583: A Collection of Vintage Jigsaw Puzzles and Games Including Gerry Anderson UFO by Arrow Games, Whitman, and Merit
This collection of vintage jigsaw puzzles and board games includes items from Whitman, Arrow Games Ltd, and Merit. The lot features a Gerry Anderson UFO 320-piece jigsaw puzzle by Arrow Games Ltd, based on the 1970s television series. Also present is a Merit Solitaire peg game, catalogue number 8301, manufactured in England. Two circular puzzles are included: a Whitman 48 cm diameter puzzle titled Waterhead near Ambleside and a Qualitex Board puzzle depicting the York Castle Museum. A large 1000-piece Arrow Games puzzle from the Serie Fine Art range features the painting Raub der Sabinerinnen by Deruet. A partially visible box for Maine Harbour Narrow Boat is also present. Items are primarily constructed from printed cardboard and paper, with the Solitaire game containing a circular board and pegs.

Condition report:
The original cardboard packaging across the collection shows typical age-related wear, including corner bumping, edge scuffing, and surface abrasions. The UFO puzzle box shows significant wear to the outer edges. The Merit Solitaire box shows some surface loss. Completeness of the puzzles and game components has not been verified.
